The production of radiation-sterilized membranes were effectively undertaken. Proper testing of the sera of amnion donors were included in the study. It has been shown that about 2.3% are positive out of 467 samples of Hepatitis B. All the sera tested were negative of HIV virus. A total of about 955 pieces of amnion membranes were produced succesfully in the institute. The use of radiation-sterilized membranes were succesfully utilized in the clinical setting. These were clinically applied as biological dressing in the cases of burns (partial thickness wounds), dermatological cases and orthopedic cases. It was estimated here that the cost of amnion dressing is about P200.00/piece which is considerably lower than the commercial synthetic dressing used in the burn patients.

To provide continuous supply of radiation-sterilized amnion membranes for clinical applications on burns (1st and 2nd degree), wounds (ulcer, bedsore, post-trauma, and abration) and reconstructive surgeries;3. To generate data on production cost processed amnions.
