HERDIN PLUS FAQs



The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development aims to improve access to relevant and timely health research information; increase awareness and use of health research information, hence creating the following Information Systems:

Project Management System ( 2016)- Online submission, review, approval, and monitoring platform for health research proposals/projects

Philippine Health Research Registry(2012)- Database of newly-approved and ongoing health researches from 2012 onwards

Health Research and Development Information Network(1987) - Database of completed health researches in the Philippines

To improve user experience in the access of our information resources. A single entry System was developed in 2016 to integrate all functionalities of the different Information Systems in one platform – the Health Research and Development Information Network plus (HERDIN+).
An online system (http://registry.healthresearch.ph/) that enables users to do the following in a single window:

Access the following:
a.Completed health researches
b. Published researches from HERDIN
c. Clinical trial studies

Collaborate with health research experts
Generate periodic report/factsheets based on your institution's research program
Starting March 2019, the HERDIN+ will contain completed health researches, published researches from HERDIN, clinical trial studies, and ongoing health researches.
No. You need to have internet connection to access the System.
You may view the following information at HERDIN+:
-Completed and ongoing researches
-List of researches and researchers per institution
-List of Clinical Trials
No. You can search and view the abstract of health researches without an account. However, when accessing full text of researches, one needs to create an account.
Here are the steps in creating an account:
Go to the topmost part of the site where you will see the Login button within the menu bar.
Click the Login button and fill in all the required fields and click submit.
You will receive a verification email.
Click the activation link in the verification email.
Log-in to your account.
You may click the Login button located at the topmost part of the site, then select the "Forgot your password?" below.
You need to create an account and log-in. Click your "account" and select "my request" to request for full text. You may also track the status of your requests by looking at the "status".
Requests are served within 3 working days for local references and 7 working days for international references.
Your institution should undergo an orientation and training for HERDIN+ before you can upload your research.

You need to create an account in HERDIN+ and proceed to "Proposals" tab and click "Submit Proposal" .

Data in HERDIN+ are protected by security measures such as firewall and security modules. Physical security measures are also in place (e.g. limited access to server) to ensure security of data.
The institution will decide whether information inputted should be broadcasted or otherwise. The institutions remains accountable and responsible in posting and updating their information. HERDIN+ is only a platform for health research stakeholders to input, store, and disseminate their research information.
As of the moment, the feature on report generation is still under development.
