Background: The Philippine Heart center being the pioneer in cardiovascular care and cardiovascular surgery we came up with the patient registry on those who underwent CABG surgery during the period of January to December 2010. We have quantified the frequencies of their baseline characteristics, cardiac and surgical profiles as well as complications related to the surgery.

Methodology: This is a descriptive study of patients admitted for CABG surgery at the Philippine Heart Center since January to December 2010 and a chart review of patients characteristics, outcomes and complications were noted.

Results: There were a total of 583 patients included in the study and most of them were males (83.7%) and of Asian race (95.4%). The mean age was 59.76 with a range of 20-84 years old. Chronic Stable angina (75%) was the main presenting diagnosis and these patients have mostly free from signs of heart failure, with 'a normal heart rate (range 60-100,88.9%). Involvement of significant left main coronary artery was 140/583 at 24%. We had 187/583 (32.1%) who had Off-Pump CABG, while the standard CABG's mean ischemic time was 109.77 minutes and bypass time of 152.47 minutes. The left internal mammary artery was used in 90.6% of patients. Mortality was noted at 3.8%.

Conclusion: It is very evident that there are a lot patients being operated at our institution. The operative mortality was also noted to be low. Selections of patients' candidate for invasive revascularization are important to assure quality of care and good outcome. Despite urgency or emergent need for revascularization, we have proven that our institution is at par with other countries in the management of postoperative complication. We are not only capable of handling good candidates for surgicalrevascularization but also patients of whom, surgical risk is high as well as innovative procedures such as Off Pump bypass.
