Marital Problems at mid-life: A survey among teachers of three elementary schools.

This study is done to determine the different perceived marital problems during the middle age. Survey questionnaires were distributed to the teachers of 3 public elementary schools from Malabon District. A total of 110 questionnaires were distributed to all teachers who are 40 to 60 years old, male and female, but only 94 respondents were included. Correlation Matrix was used to find out if there was significant difference among the variable which is placed at p value 0.05 considered significant. Regression Analysis was also utilized. ANOVA was used to compare mean scores of the different subscales and Kendall Coefficient of Concordance was utilized to measure the degree of agreement in the ranking of the perceived marital problems at mid-life. Results showed that there is a significant correlation between economic status and child rearing, and personal care and appearance. And the problem most perceived as problematic is the area on Problem Solving and Decision-Making. However, in conclusion, marital problems are just normal part of the developmental challenges at one point in their lives.
