Intracoronary stent implantation has been used as a bail out device in acute coronary occlusion during coronary angioplasty, and recently has been extensively used in the primary angioplasty of native coronary arteries and saphenous vein graft stenosis. We have successfully performed four cases of primaty stenting involving three saphenous vein grafts and one native proximal left anterior descending artery using the Palmaz-Schatz intracoronary stent device. All four patients were eventually discharged with improved functional capacities.(Author)
