Abstract: Solanum melongena, which contain the toxin Solanin is found abundantly in the Philippine archipelago. Solanin on the other hand is said to have narcotic  and antispasmodic effect and is present in all species of Solanum. In this study which endeavors to find if a relaxant effect can be elaborated by Solanum melongena leaf extract  to frog muscle preparations, the proponents found out that there was no significant result to the previous notion of the extract's effect.
