Medical decision analysis is a scientific approach to medical decision making. Its partial application is a three stage process: formation of decision made, evaluation of the model for the purpose of arriving at a recommended actions and appraisal or interpretation of the formal recommendation. The process involves three components: preferences (what you want) information (what you know) and alternatives (what you can do)
