Food preparation is one of the major roles of a mother; hence, this study was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of pre-school mothers of Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) on food preparation. Specifically, it focused on food preparation along food utensils, hygiene, and nutrition. The study used the descriptive design with structured questionnaire as tool in gathering the data. Data were collected from the pre-school mothers of CCDC. Findings reveal that most of the pre-school mothers belong to the 18-40 years old age group, have college education and belong to the Kankana-ey ethnic tribe; the pre-school mothers of CCDC are highly knowledgeable along food utensils, hygiene and nutrition; and significant differences are noted on their level of knowledge according to age, educational attainment and ethnic affiliation. Based on the findings of the study, it is concluded that the pre-school mothers are highly knowledgeable in food preparation along food utensils, hygiene and nutrition; age, educational attainment, and ethnic affiliation significantly affected the level of knowledge of pre-school mothers.

This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge of pre-school mothers of Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) on food preparation.

1. Profile of the pre-school mothers as to: (a) age; (b) educational attainment; and (c) ethnic affiliation


2. Level of knowledge of the pre-school mothers on food preparation along the following: (a) hygienic factors; (b) food utensils; and (c) nutritional status
