Design: This is a descriptive study of all DOA patients at VSMMC ER department from September 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.
Setting: This is conducted at VSMMC ER department. The facility is a tertiary government hospital, centrally located in the City of Cebu, Philippines.
Participants: Included in the study are all patients who were considered dead on arrival at the emergency room of VSMMC.
Inclusion criteria: All patients who were considered dead on arrival at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center from September 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.
Exclusion criteria: All incomplete data collected will be excluded from the study.
To determine the relative frequency of occurrence of DOA at VSMMC ER department from September 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.
1. To describe the demographic profile of DOA patients at VSMMC ER department as to age, sex, status, occupation, address.
2. To determine the leading causes of DOA patients at VSMMC ER department.

3. To determine if pre-hospital care was given to patients who were considered DOA at VSMMC ER department
a. From what hospital or address (example: house, workplace)?
b. What therapeutic measures were done before transport?
c. What was the condition of the patient prior to transport?
d. Time of transport from point of origin and exact time of arrival at VSMMC ER department
e. Mode of transport, whether by an ambulance, private vehicle, taxi or by an LGU
f. Was resuscitation attempted before arrival at VSMMC-ER department? If, yes, by whom? (example: doctor, nurse, paramedics)
