Long term dialysis: Complications and management.

 Sugino N

The survival rate of long term dialysis patients increases, more unpredictable complications. New modalities against these complications are needed. Complications such as anemia, uremic pericarditis, bone diseases, etc. are well known. Dialysis hypotension and amyloid deposition in soft tissues are more frequently observed in the last few years. Prevention and therapy are discussed, including unestablished modalities available at the present time
